Overview
While XemailCampaign allows you to upload lead lists in bulk via CSV files, there may be times when you need to add individual leads manually perhaps you discovered a new prospect, received a referral, or simply want to add someone you missed during your initial upload. This guide shows you how to manually add leads to your campaigns.
When to Add Leads Manually
Manual lead entry is useful when you need to:
- Add individual prospects you discovered after uploading your main lead list
- Include referrals or networking contacts
- Quickly add a lead without creating a new CSV file
- Correct or update individual lead information
Step-by-Step: Adding Leads Manually
Step 1: Navigate to Your Campaign
- Go to the Campaign tab in your XemailCampaign dashboard
- Select the specific campaign you want to add leads to
- Click on the campaign to open its detailed view
Step 2: Access the Leads Tab
Once inside your campaign, you'll see several tabs. Navigate to the Leads tab, where you can view and manage all prospects in this campaign.
Step 3: Enter Manual Lead Mode
- Look for the "Add Lead Manually" option
- Click on this button to open the manual entry interface
Step 4: Fill in Lead Details
An edit box will appear showing you the format for entering lead information. You'll typically need to provide:
- Lead Name: The full name of your prospect
- Lead Email: The prospect's email address
The interface will display the required format to ensure your information is entered correctly.
Step 5: Save and Confirm
After entering the lead details:
- Review the information for accuracy
- Click Save or Add Lead to confirm
- The lead will immediately be added to your campaign
What Happens Next?
Once you've manually added a lead:
- The lead is instantly integrated into your campaign
- They will be included in your outreach sequence according to your campaign settings
- The lead will receive emails based on your campaign schedule and automation rules
- You can track their engagement like any other lead in your campaign
Tips for Manual Lead Entry
- Double-check email addresses: A single typo can prevent your message from reaching the prospect
- Use consistent naming: Keep your naming format consistent with your uploaded leads for easier reporting
- Add notes if available: If your campaign supports lead notes or custom fields, include relevant context about the prospect
Bulk vs. Manual: Choosing the Right Method
Use CSV Upload When:
- You have many leads to add at once
- You're importing from another system or database
- You have structured, formatted data ready to go
Use Manual Entry When:
- Adding one or a few leads
- You need to quickly include someone in an active campaign
- The lead information doesn't exist in a spreadsheet format
